DONNA FLAGG

FOUNDER / CREATOR

Donna Flagg has been dancing all of her life. She trained throughout her childhood and teenage years before going on to study at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and then graduate from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. After starting a career in business and suffering a dance-related injury, she decided to combine her knowledge, experience and love for dance into a stretching technique called Lastics®.

Calling upon her varied experience, Donna designed Lastics to reconstruct the flexibility that dancers have, and from which they all work. It releases tension, increases flexibility and stimulates circulation by teaching people how to articulate their bodies in ways that stretch and elongate muscles from the inside out, and from end-to-end. Not only does flexibility substantially and noticeably improve, Lastics also keeps the body in balance and teaches a unique kind of body awareness and control.

In addition to being an instructor at New York Health and Racquet Club, Donna has taught Lastics at The Joffrey Ballet Academy in Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet School in New York, Broadway Dance Center in New York City, New Jersey Dance Center, and MTV. Lastics classes have also been offered through MediFit (formerly Wellness 360), a company that specializes in providing fitness programs to high-end private residential and corporate health clubs. Later this fall Donna will be bringing Lastics to Cal-a-Vie Health Spa in San Diego, California.

The technique is endorsed by a Broadway dancer, an NBA player and a prominent New York Orthopedic Surgeon. Most recently, both The New York Post and New York Daily News named Lastics an "out-of-the-box workout” to try in 2012!
