ALYSSA MAKSYM

CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR

 

Alyssa Maksym began her dance training at the age of three at Robin Horneff’s Performing Arts Center and In the Spotlight, both in Northern New Jersey, with additional summer training at Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, Broadway Dance Center and Steps. She grew up attending conventions and competitions and remained a scholarship student at JUMP, New York City Dance Alliance, Tremaine, West Coast Dance Explosion and Co. Alyssa has since earned her BFA in dance from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University where she also studied business through the Leonard Stern School of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences.

 

Throughout Alyssa’s performance career, she has had the privilege of performing works by Jill Johnson/William Forsythe, Susan Marshall, Gus Solomons Jr., James Sutton, John Selya, Tyce Diorio, Dan Karaty and Larissa & Gennadi Saveliev.

 

Currently, Alyssa is a dancer in the Metropolitan Opera's new production of "Faust", choreographed by Kelly Devine as well a company member with :pushing progress, directed and choreographed by Calen J. Kurka and Chris Hale. She continues to teach Lastics and dance around the tri-state area.
